There is a reason that February is often associated with the color red. This color symbolizes passion, energy, strength, and love. With Valentine’s Day on the way, I encourage you to spice up your home with this fabulous hue!
Consider placing some red pillows on your couch like this one from One Kings Lane or, if you are feeling bold, adding a red chair. You cold even add pops of red throughout your living room by placing flowers in a red vase or adding some red candles to your decor. The items above can be found at Pottery Barn.
If pillows and red furniture are not to your taste, you could always add a red throw over a solid colored couch or ottoman. These beautiful throws can be found on sale at Pottery Barn. In fact, a lot of cosy Christmas decorations can easily carry your home through February. For inspiration, take a look at a post I wrote last year.
Another easy addition to your home decor is new hardware! It is easy to spruce up a piece of furniture by adding a few new knobs. To keep things consistent with the theme, consider adding red hardware. If red is not your thing, however, there are many different options!
In the very least, put some flowers in a simple vase. Switch it up and add some red asters, chrysanthemums or ranunculus, instead of the typical red rose. The vases pictured above can be found at Pottery Barn.
I hope this post has inspired you to welcome February with warmth and the addition of red hues!
