Creating a library in your home can be a treasure for the whole family to enjoy! This gives your children easy access to adventures within the comfort of your own home. It also has the potential to open up a healthy dialogue for the whole family.
Reading is important. It develops the muscles within the mind that need exercise and stimulation to produce more growth. Understanding the written word is one way the mind grows in its ability. Teaching young children to read helps them develop their language skills. It also helps them learn to listen. Everybody wants to talk, but few can really listen.
Reading helps children [and adults] focus on what someone else is communicating. Reading develops the imagination. TV and computer games have a place within the home, but they provide passive amusement. In comparison, both spoken and written words are the building blocks of life and have the ability to expand both thoughts and communication skills.
Here are some library rooms below to inspire you to create a space in your home for books and time with your family!
