“Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.” Psalm 100:4
Thanksgiving week is finally here! I always love this holiday, because it is so simple. There are no jingles, wrapping, or shopping required. Family and friends simply gather together over a meal to reflect on the many things that they have to be thankful for.
While I am glad that this holiday does not require much “planning” I think that it should get a bit more attention. You see, I don’t think people take enough time to prepare their hearts for the significance of this holiday. Instead of thinking of something you are thankful for the day of, I encourage you to start meditating on the many things that you have to be thankful for.
Think outside of the box this year and ask yourself why you are thankful for the things you are thankful for. Perhaps you could write some of these things down. If you are thankful for a specific person, write them a little note to let them know how you feel about them. You could also do random acts of kindness and pay for the persons drink behind you. Lavish people with love this holiday.
Celebrate Thanksgiving by feasting on thanksgiving versus merely fasting from negativity! There are so many things to be thankful for! Let your heart overflow with the many blessings in your life.
May God Bless you and your families this Thanksgiving!
XOXO,
Sandra
