Who wouldn’t love to give their home a complete makeover? How many of us are just dying to get everything organized and beautiful?!?! Many of us would love to give our home a fresh start this year, but we just don’t know where to start. This year at the Art of Domesticity I am so thrilled to guide you through a twelve-month journey to making over your home.
I am going to make it very simple and break down each aspect of your home makeover into monthly tasks according to seasonal needs. Better yet, I am digging deep to find out when is the best time to purchase home goods as far as furniture, appliances, bedding and all other home improvement items.
Many of us shrink back from this seemingly insurmountable task because it is just too overwhelming, but not anymore. I am making it very simple!
Few things feel better than a night of deep, quality sleep. Valuable time immersed in soothing slumber offers us an array of benefits, from managing stress to feeling sharper and more alert. It also yields us the energy and the capacity to run our busy lives — including exceeding at work, running around with our children, and fitting in a daily workout.
No two bodies are alike, which is why there is no one-size-fits-all solution when it comes to mattresses. Your sleeping habits, body type, and personal history all are factors in selecting your perfect mattress. And because bedroom bliss starts with a great mattress, take advantage of the spring mattress sales to upgrade any bedroom in the house that needs it.
This month take the opportunity to decorate an underused guest bedroom or to give your own master bedroom a makeover. Here are some of my mattress picks:
Now that you know the benefits of a good mattress lets take the opportunity to decorate an underused guest bedroom or to give your own master bedroom a blissful makeover.
*Blissful Scent
Your sense of smell is the sense most strongly tied to memory. Paying attention to the way a room smells can go the extra mile to create a blissful setting. Fragrances like vanilla, sandalwood, or amber are great to set a blissful mood.
*Blissful Bedding
You can’t talk about a blissful bedroom without of course focusing on the bed. Your bed should be so comfortable you never want to leave. Dress your bed in sheets 400 thread count or higher for maximum comfort, and keep a cozy comforter on hand to snuggle up in. A word about throw pillows–resist the urge to cover your bed with a mountain of throw pillows. Too many pillows are too much fuss and create clutter.
Creating bliss in your bedroom or any room is easy with a little time and forward-thinking. Here’s wishing you a very happy blissful night in your new bedroom!
XOXO,
