I have been wanting to visit Italy for many years not only for historical reasons but because some of the most beautiful architectural buildings, furniture and fabrics come from Rome and Florence.
As a designer, traveling to Italy is inspiring because you can see the influences of the Middle Ages on modern architecture and design.
This year for our anniversary, my husband and I finally made it to Italy! It has been exactly what I have imagined and studied in Art History classes for many years.
All I can say is details! details! details! The gardens, the art inside the Basilicas, the iron staircases, the marble, and the overall attention to detail is amazing!
