Helping Your Child “Put on the Armor of God” for School

A new school year is underway and our children are faced with all sorts of new circumstances and challenges. Prepare them for their day by helping them put on the armor of God! With the new school year already under way for many families, I wanted to share with you a fun, simple and meaningful way to prepare your children for school each morning.

It is SO simple but so impactful.

Each morning before school, or when your child needs encouragement, simply take a few minutes to read through Ephesians 6:13-17. For older children you can write the verses on a notecard to keep with them during the day at school. For younger children you can act out “putting on the armor of God” for something fun as you read!

Here are the verses below:

Unchecked Copy Box Eph 6:13
Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Unchecked Copy Box Eph 6:14¶
Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness,
Unchecked Copy Box Eph 6:15
and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
Unchecked Copy Box Eph 6:16
above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.
Unchecked Copy Box Eph 6:17
And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
Hoping and praying this school year is a blessing for your children!
Blessings,
Sandra Maddox
